How do I get around in New York City?
Public Transportation (Highly Recommended)
Hopstop.com-Think of it as Mapquest for public transportation (but it
works better).
Onnyturf.com/subway-The entire subway system map imposed over the
Google Map of NYC-it's quite fantastic.
* We will have Designated Tour Guides, they will help you get from
evening events to late night events-more on that to come.
If you wish to drive in NYC:
You are certainly welcome to use your car in NYC. However, parking is
very hard to come by, especially in Manhattan, you make take 10
minutes just finding a spot, and it may not be as close as you wish.
Also the streets get very congested; usually it's faster to use public
transportation. The one exception to the congestion rule is the wee
hours of the morning, however parking will be even harder to find.
Park & Ride (Recommended)
There are many Park and Ride places just outside the city on Long
Island and NJ, that are not even half an hour away by train. You can
leave your car there for the weekend for a small fee, then go back to
pick up when you are ready to go. More on that to come.
Airlines
We recommend using
kayak.com as your airline search engine.
You can search several other flight search sites at once, you won't be
disappointed!
